Dimensional Regularization and Mellin Summation in High-Temperature Calculations

The infinite sums often encountered in thermal Feynman diagrams are commonly computed using the function coth, or one with similar properties, to generate poles in the complex plane whose residues correspond to the terms in the sum [1]. This transforms the summation into a contour integration and conveniently splits the zero-temperature and thermal contributions. The method ceases to be ideal w...

Some problems in loop calculations

We discuss some of the problems that may occur in the calculation of complicated Feynman diagrams. These include the group independent evaluation of color factors, and the summation techniques that are needed for the expansion of diagrams into their Mellin moments.

Feynman parametrization and the degenerate electron gas.

We give an alternate derivation of Weldon's formula for combining products of factors with non identical analytic behavior. While such a formula would appear to be useful in finite temperature calculations, we give an example of a zero temperature calculation, namely, the degenerate electron gas, to justify the result.

Two–Loop Massive Operator Matrix Elements for Unpolarized Heavy Flavor Production to O(ǫ)

We calculate the O(αs) massive operator matrix elements for the twist–2 operators, which contribute to the heavy flavor Wilson coefficients in unpolarized deeply inelastic scattering in the region Q2 ≫ m2, up to the O(ε) contributions. These terms contribute through the renormalization of the O(αs) heavy flavor Wilson coefficients of the structure function F2(x,Q 2). The calculation has been pe...

AMBRE - a Mathematica package for the construction of Mellin-Barnes representations for Feynman integrals

The Mathematica toolkit AMBRE derives Mellin-Barnes (MB) representations for Feynman integrals in d = 4 − 2ε dimensions. It may be applied for tadpoles as well as for multileg and multiloop scalar and tensor integrals. AMBRE uses a loopby-loop approach and aims at lowest dimensions of the final MB representations. It integrates the package MB for the determination of the singularity structure i...
